exhaust is almost EXactly the same
unless you hear both all the time(i do) you probably wont notice a difference.

the g35 however has slightly less noise from the motor due to a baffle in the intake.

oh i see.. thanks for the info. i never heard the 350z persay, but i have heard the g35c. that is the most beautiful sound i've ever heard on a stock motor. but since you're telling me the 350z has a little more tone to it, i might have to go hear for it myself.

Like he said they are the same engine and they are more or less the same car. Minus a little length in wheel base and a couple mufflers or baffles that the g35 has in the intake (like bob said) that IMO prolly acount for most of that 7-8 hp difference, but give the motor that slightly quieter sound.

Personally I would not buy it for how it sounds...you need to test drive each, because the differences in suspension and interior layout and amenities are the differences one will notice the most.

At least I think so.

And - If you want, you can put the 350Z intake on the "G", and change (or alter) the exhaust, and have more sound. If that's what your after. You may also get more power. I did.

nah dont worry.. im not choosing a car strictly on how it sounds. im not going to spend 30k+ just for a car that sounds better than the other.. hehe. if i wanted a deeper sound, i could just throw aftermarket exhausts on either car as soon as i buy it right? i just wanted to know for my own personal reference because i've heard the g35c and it sounds nice as hell and i just wanted to kno if the 350z sounded as good or even better, for i have never heard it accelerating from first gear. but thanks for your input everyone.. dont get me wrong, both cars look f***ing hot.. but just to keep you updated, im kinda leaning towards the Z more than ever now for that sporty look. i'll get the luxury look a little later.

i actually bought the G for the exterior look,
it looks wider(it isnt) and its kinda long
thats just the kinda looks im drawn to in a sports car.
RX7 is my favorite car, its tiny but it has a wide look and a long apearing profile.

I have a 350z and there are a few other differences to consider.

350z has stiffer suspension. Upper and lower sway bars in the front and rear. Better handling. Less weight. Wider stance two seater.

G35 has four seats. Smother ride. More luxury like interior.

I have a G35 Coupe.

350Z definitely has stiffer suspension but here's what R&T said about handling in their G35 Coupe review:

""And thanks to its slightly longer wheelbase (112.2 in. to the Z's 104.3), the car feels more balanced and stable through corners than the Z, especially noticeable through quick left/right transitions where the Z's rear end can become a touch twitchy. In fact, the G35 recorded better handling numbers at the test track. It achieved 0.92g around the skidpad and danced through the slalom at 67.7 mph, besting the 350Z's 0.89g and 65.6 mph."

Both cars handle similarly, the Z being more track oriented and agressive. But seems the longer wheelbase of the G has some side benefits aside from allowing room for back seats.

The point is that they are the same car. Remember the 300Z's one was a 2 seater and the other was a 4 seater and was called the 2+2. Well the G35 is the 4 seater version of the Z. Its a little heaver and less aggressively tuned. That’s really all...
