Default notchy shifter, now grinding... grrr!!

So my 3rd gear was notchy about a year ago. the dealer couldn't duplicate it but found brass in the fluid and replaced it. started doing it again shortly after so i just shrugged it off and figured I'd live with it. now it's started on 2nd gear. i'll give you the perfect scenario for it to grind: take off from a dead stop and clutch in at 2.5k minimum then slowly shift into 2nd. it grinds so bad that i can't get it into gear. doesn't do it in any other gear or downshifting. only 2nd. if i shift faster, it just feels notchy but if i'm going slow (neighborhood, traffic, etc) i shift slower and just adjust my clutch engagement accordingly, grinding like a finger in a box fan. to the dealer on friday. what are the odds of getting 2 units with bad synchros? anyone else with a notchy shifter able to duplicate this? i could understand if i drove it like a maniac but i baby this car 99% of the time. i guess this is the thanks i get. will post dealer outcome

/end rant

I have a CD -008 replaced in 2006. 2nd gear is definitely hard to get in, and my gearbox still whines. I notice it is easier to shift if I press the clutch pedal in hard. Also, I've been told the notchiness is from trying to get in gear too fast O_o

there really should be a class-action against nissan for the bad transmission. really. its ridiculous that the 2nd most important component of their cars suck a large D. never heard of it in second though, and you have an 009?

i think it's an 009 trans. the first time i've heard of a 009 is when i did a search before posting it this thread. anyone care to elaborate on what's the main difference in set ups? it's more likely a synchro in my case but i hope since it's already been replaced, they might give me **** about it. they see a young guy driving it, they assume they're driving it like a bat out of Hades.

does it grind more when you shift fast or slow? for me it's just notchy fast and grinds like crazy slow.

i asked the dealer if there was an adjustment for the 3rd gear being notchy (before it was replaced). he said no linkage/plate adjustments on these units. they found brass in the fluid so they put in a new one to be on the safe side.

my '03 does this from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd...took it to the dealer the service guy drove it like a grandma, they couldn't replicate it so they said don't worry and if it gets worse bring it back in...well it's getting worse now but it seems like my clutch pedal resistance is inconsistent, possibly a bad clutch master cylinder? i have to make an appointment to bring it in still but i'll keep you guys posted

Try pressing the clutch down hard/fast and get in gear like normal, and then let out the clutch normally. I notice shifting is easier. It is pretty inconsistent for me as well. On a cold/initial start I get a nasty 1st-2nd clunk getting out of the parking lot.
