Default G37S-What Transmission?

hey guys
looking at a G37 or a 370Z after i sell my 350Z.
i want a white G37 Coupe S/370Z
but since its a beauty of a car, what transmission should i get? A/T or 6sp?
i know it sounds like a newb question but where i live, there isnt many roads to really open the car out through all 6 gears.
thanks
MFA
p.s.-how do you like your G37? and any regrets?

you can always use the full potential of the transmission on the turnpike

yeah but not to sound like a kid, but my parents think it would be less of a headache to get an A/T instead of the 6sp since i live in a stop and go sort of town...

if you ask...i'm pretty sure 3/4, if not more of the people on here will tell you to get a 6mt.

Automotive enthusiast = M/T
Practicality = A/T

Look in the mirror and make your decision.

doesn't the new AT have 7 gears? I'd go AT simply because it shifts faster and is more reasonable to use day to day. I love my 6MT but if there was a 7AT available for me at the time I would have chosen that for my g35 coupe.

just another question....does both the G37 and 370z A/T come wit the paddle shift? and does it come with the 6spd or just the A/T?

Both G and Z have paddles. Just the A/T, why would you need to have paddles on a M/T vehicle Not being a jerk but just think about it.

true good point...do you think it would be more enjoyable with the A/T and paddle shift instead of the 6spd?

You have to ask yourself that question. I consider myself an old school purist and will only drive a manual in what I so call a sport/performance sedan/coupe.

6mt is the way to go. right now is a great time to buy a '08 G37 coupe b/c it has 0.9% financing for 60 months.... best value for your money.

the 6mt would be more fun to drive IMO but the 7at is more for practicality with giving some funness (i know not a word) to it, i live in a non stop and go place so i went with a manual but in the end you have to do what makes you happy and what fits your lifestyle the best

yea true, where i live is in the middle of a city and a town, its mostly stop and go...so i think i better off with a A/T...and i think the paddle shifting makes it all the better too...

A 370Z or G with A/T, fail. If there's a lot of traffic where you live, why get a Z or G if that is your mentality?
Get a Toyota Prius then, your parents will be happier.

GTRs and EVO X are not A/T, they don't have torque converters.
