So after putting on 400 miles, i noticed that my oil was about 1.5qts low.. (just bought the car) put in 1qt last night just to drive it..

the old owner said that if it is leaking oil it is the cam cover.. he had problems with it.. After looking at it closer i am starting to wonder if that really could be it.. here are a few pics.. i will have to get it up on a hoist to get better pics.. I know that the cover is leaking again, and am wondering if anyone else had this problem and what you did to fix it..?? he said to just use rtv grey silicone and to just re-do it every spring..

the 4th picture is the main crank pulley.. i wiped away some of the dirt/oil from the inside.. i don't understand how oil could have gotten in there if it is just the cam cover leaking..

and the bottom side is just soaked..

ya.. tell me about it.. according to the old owner - "no leaks except for the cam cover".
Even if he would have told me something was wrong I would have still baught the car. . at least I would have known what to fix!

 

well, took it to the shop today.. everything was so dirty underneath we couldn't tell.. going to drop oil, pull cam cover, clean everything let dry overnight refill oil and check agian in a couple hundred miles.. hopefully
that is it.. till then..
