Default 3.5 pumpkin vs 3.3 pumpkin

i was wondering if there are any key features to look for when trying to tell a difference between the non-vlsd and vlsd pumpkins? also any way to tell if it came off a 6mt or 5at by just looking at it?

i just read your whole post. the only thing that confuses me a little is the second post in the thread and the information he gives. seems like he has a good bit of knowledge and nobody second guessed anything on his post

yea i know it was the last post in the thread and the most helpful as well lol. i already figured out everything i needed to. i was just confused on what that guy was talking about cause even the open diff should be able to let both sides be turned the same way at the same time???? or so i thought

^On a VLSD turning the flange will turn both sides when resistance is applied to either side, only one side will turn on an open diff in the same scenario. I haven't messed with a diff in a while but I believe you can turn one side on an OPEN diff and the other will not move.

ok see i agree with this if you are holding the other side. and if you only move rotate one flange then the other should rotate opposite with a open diff correct?? and with the vlsd they should both rotate the same way...

both my differentials have stamps on them so i am just wanna make sure i have the info i need to check out one that might not have a stamp or its not dirty to see

hmmm im not really too interested in a whole pumpkin at the time. i already have a open 3.3 and 3.5 diff so prolly just gonna pick up a lsd for one of them. this thread was made for my personal knowledge in case i run into a diff where i can't easily distinguish the stamp
