Downshifting Question for autos??

Default Downshifting Question for autos??

I have a z for 1 more week b4 i get my new g35coupe.. Tonight i test drove a freind of mines mothers g35coupe and i noticed that to downshift in the manual mode (at) u have to wait until the RPM drops to 3000 rpm??? in my z that was a Auto too u can downshift at 4000 rpm.. anyone know why? also the z is much louder i wanst that impressed with the power of the g35 coupe compared to the z... 7 HP diff feels like 50 hps difference to me.. i dont get it??

The Z is lighter and better tuned for the track...if you want a fast track ready car stay with the z

I'm not sure about the downshifting issue...I drive a 6MT. But the perceived difference in performance between the two cars is probably attributable to weight and sound. The Z is around 400 lbs lighter than the G Coupe and the G is a bit quieter (as you've noticed). The slight decrease in performance of the G coupled with the softer exhaust note probably makes the G seem a whole lot tamer than the Z. The difference in actual performance is actually not that much.
