Default No G's at Z Fest?

Sup Everybody,

Man that was a perfect day (Saturday) nice and warm with a slight breeze to keep us all cool. I didn't expect to see so many older generation Nissan's! Some really phat rides out there. You may have seen me and my fiance taking photos running around like mad men before you guys left for the poker run.

Anyway, it was a great meet/show and I hope to see you folks again, by then I'll have my G35. By the way, where were the G's? C'mon fellas, you were supposed to come out and represent! Maybe next time huh? The photos might or might not be posted, that's all up to team lead in Orlando. Hopefully, he will post them in due time. Check out or site every now and then to see if the pics were posted.

http://www.deepvision.net

Hope to see some of you guys and ladies at HIN Orlando, Traxion or the Fast and the Furious Tour in the next two months.

You guys are KILLING me. There were 8 g35's that showed up. We had the only ATI procharger at the car show, which we couldn't enter, and we stayed for about 3 hours, 12-3pm. Check out this AWESOME link, it takes about 2-5 minutes to download, but it shows the G35's were in full force... I was also surprised at the VERY SMALL NUMBER of 350Z's that entered the car show. I thought there would be 4-5 times that many 350's there. We were slightly disappointed at the turnout to be honest, but we still had a blast. I especially liked having the opportunity to see the I-Forged Evolutions in person. My new favorite wheel.

http://www.dawleyonline.com/PhotoJam...004/index.html

THIS LINK IS A MUST SEE... Anyone know who won each class at the car show?

I wish Westpak would have come up to us and introduced himself, I was looking forward to meeting him. Maybe next time...

VERY SMALL NUMBER of 350Z's there??? must have been over 40 in the show plus others attending. See pic below.

I apologize for not coming over but I had little time to do much hardly saw any of the Z's there, being a club officer takes some time and it seemed people kept coming by looking for westpak, I guess I over exposed myself on all of the forums promoting this event.

Our club won 4 categories 300ZX (Z32) modified, 240Z-260Z stock, 300ZX (Z31), 240Z-260Z Modified and 280ZX stock I believe.

"Z-fest"? As in Not-Z's? No stars-upon-thars-fest?

That's sad man - if your 300ZX was hyped to the US market as an Infiniti you'd ban your own a*s? That's like banning a Toyota Soarer from a Lexus Coupe meet because its wearing the wrong stinkin' badges.

Wake up - the V35 just like your Fairlady and "300ZX" are Nissans - why does Nissan use the V35 on their promo site for "Drive Japan"?
https://skyline1.nissan.co.jp/DRIVEJAPAN/index.html
(Answer: because it's a Nissan)

You of all people, driving both a 2+2 version of a "Z" and the 350 should know better...can't believe you'd ban your bros from the meet show - any one of the cars, any one of the classes you list are all Datsuns, Nissans - if the stupid US market policy sold cars under a different badge earlier, your 300ZX would have been "not a Z", i.e. an Infiniti - whatever sells here. It's all marketing - the cars are what they are, period.

I should know - I had my 2003 350Z for 14 months and am only 4k into my "Not-a-Z" - what a joke, these cars so many great things in common, I couldn't say which I liked "better".

I've been on both sides of this "not-a-Z" issue as a driver, and it's a load of cr*p. To exclude either one from a meet show is really lame...I'm sure you had your reasons, but think about it.

Here in CT our meets welcome Z's, G35 Coupes, dogs living with cats, we're just happy to get together with people and have some fun.

Like the "spokes", tone down the hub more flat finish and it looks good! The more subtle wheel look on the car looks good IMHO, depends on the color, too.

WOW, what hostility. First of all my 300ZX is not a 2+2 it a 2 seater TT. And I am sorry if I do not buy into the "G35C is a 2+2 version of the 350Z" because it is not, not only in badge but in look, the 300ZX 2+2 looks just like the 2 seater just a little longer and not as easy to tell apart as you yourself proved. The G35C and the 350Z are obviously different, just because they have the same engine VQ35 doesn't mean anything, I do not see Trans Am's at Corvette meets do you.

If you wanted to have meets and events like we have you should have stayed with the Z sorry.

Westpak,

If that's really the way you feel, you are the only 350Z owner who is NOT invited to the Central Florida Dyno Day at Titan Motorsports that I (a G35C-6MT owner) am setting up. I thought you were better than that, but 2 can play this game. Anyone else with an open mind is welcome to attend as I don't "blanket discriminate" against any Nissan from showing up, just certain people who feel that they deserve to be "exclusive". Consider yourself EXCLUDED!

I that fair?

LOL, that is fair because when I organize Dyno days for our club it is for Z's, we might have 1 or 2 non Z's. People are not getting my point the clubs are called Z clubs not Z-G or Nissan/Infinity clubs, one of the main reasons I bought the 350Z was because it was a Z and wanted to be part of 35 years of history in which the G35 doesn't fit.

That being said, I am not against other Nissan/Infinity cars, there is just a time and place for that, and events like Zfest is not one of them, we had a Nissan meet here last November where I joined with other local Nissan clubs and had a huge meet where there were Sentras, 240SX, G20.......... and it was a lot of fun.

I have better events with both cars and more, thanks anyway for the non-invite, very uncool and perhaps you should think about starting a local chapter for the "KKK Z-Club" while you're at it? I think you're missing out on some untapped talent to lead another form of mis-informed "bigots-r-us" club. I'd hate to think what a mental mess you'd be in if Nissan put Infiniti badges on all the Fairlady Z's and V35 Skylines...could you park in the same garage? Horrors!

I already have my QUALITY local events, minus the deluded discrimination by folks like yourself. More enlightened and hard working informed folks in my area don't have their panties up in a bunch about stupid skin deep badges dictated by marketing gurus. I don't need to travel to your area to be dissed by your club. If I was a member of your club, I'd be embarassed by your attitude. In fact, Z or G, I don't think I'd want to be asscociated with "your" club if your attitude is their mojo - I'd throw you as* out of office or any other position of responsibility.

At the Fall ZCCA meet in NH, we had Z's of all types, 510's, 240's, 260's, a C Production car, anything Nissan - and it was good. Ask anyone that attended the Fall 2003 convention - was their experience polluted by non-Z "DNA"? Nope. Lots of really great people and some cars. Steve Millen attended and seemed to have a good time. Since you seem to be lacking humility, spend some track time with him behind you, I don't care if he has a 2.5s Altima, he'll be all over your mirrors just before he passes your beloved Z with a car with half the crank hp.

At our CT meet last year, we had about 85-90 cars, about 80% of your "Chosen Race", 20% G's. I thought that was very cool...and we all had a good time thanks to Victor and the hard work of many others.

The *Corvette Club* in MA is one of the best clubs I know, I hooked up with them with my Z, they did not sneer it down, even through the Z06 trounced the puppy. God Forbid - yes, even the Corvette Club welcomes me in either rig. They'd welcome either of us, even if you also dissed their rigs (which I don't recommend just in case you haven't had you *** handed to you by a Z06 yet).

When you've put thousands of miles in a 350Z and a "G35", let's talk. Until then, you're spouting marketing nonsense and conjecture. If you think only the engine is the common part, you're badly misinformed.

You're very welcome in CT/MA/NH meets, G or Z, anytime. You'd likely find free place to stay, instant friends, and hospitality - despite being a self-proclaimed "Anti-G-bigot". And, I wouldn't hold it against you that you only have a basic Nissan 350Z , and not a next-generation Nissan like my "G"

"Any club that wouldn't throw me out, I don't want to be a member of" - paraphrase of W.C. Fields

BTW, my stock V35 spanked my former 350Z's numbers on the Dynojet - just thought you'd like to know. It also turned better numbers than 50% or better of the other Z's that were tested (stock). You might want to check that attitude at the door to save yourself some more embarassment...but, of course that's not fair, it's not "the same car".

BTW, is "waste-pak" trying to maybe compensate for something else with his/her sig? It's more info than his/her posts - must have farmed it out...when I see a sig that long my "BOZO-flag" flips over to "yup"

I wouldn't count on it if the club "off-fee-sir" is Wastepek, he/she doesn't seem to like "G's" so far as I can tell...maybe I'm off here, but he/she seems to have a rather strong and ignornant bias that the "Z" and "G" aren't much related (I believe he/she compared the to Trans Ams or something like that)

Find a new club if he/she is in charge in any capacity, or better yet, start a drive for more enlightened "leadership" - excluding G's from a Z meet or Z's from a G meet is BS of the first degree.

Doesn't it hurt to talk out of both sides of your mouth at the same time? BS you're not against "Infinitis", you're full of Sh*t! The G35 doesn't fit? I guess that's why the same fools who made both your Z cars branded the V35 (not the Fairlady Z) as the JDM Skyline, have future plans for that being Nissan's Halo rig, with AWD and the Z being the "affordable sports car" alternative, the Skyline carrying on the high performance high-end line for Nissan. They also must be idiots by your twisted yardstick...

If you don't think every GT Skyline from the 2.5 forward wouldn't leave your Z's looking at their tailights, you need to do some research.

Seriously, get over it - you've obviously offended people who went out of their way to attend your meet, and you put BS "LOL" stuff on a reply to someone who just has genuine interest, WTF, were you dropped on your head at birth or what???

BTW, it's "Infiniti" with an "i" - if you're going to diss other Nissan cars, at least get it right. LOL, there's another post in 350z.com bashing a G owner for the same spelling mistake - by a "Z" owner!

It's all Nissan, don't be a dumb*ss bigot on something so stupid as a marketing twist that plays in the US but not Japan- just like Lexus/Toyota, it's all the same where your baby was made - Nissan.

Question Uhh...guys...

Oookay, let's all just chill for a second, take a deep breath. This is not what I expected, so considering I started this thread, let's just cease with the comments. We're all enthusiats here be it Z or G. This is how rivals start and how forums like this end up being scrapped or shut down.

I agree, I guess I am not getting my point across very well, and it is falling victim to the usual lack of expression that cannot be put across on print. I do not mean to hate on any cars and SteveZ you need to make sure you take your meds.
