Default Test driving a G35 today

I know i've posted here before about possibly purchasing a Z. The past two months i've been debating and shopping, and 2 nights ago my Grand Am was broken into so that was pretty much my breaking point that i'm getting a new car.

I test drove a 350Z AT Enthusiast and actually enjoyed the manumatic feature. I know i'd probably never hear the end of it purchasing a sports car in an automatic, but I didn't care cause ultimately I have to be comfortable in this car. I will be commuting with it 70 miles round trip 5 days a week. The Z was just too small for me and didn't feel like me at all. I test drove a Pontiac GTO and definately loved every second of it but there are no incentives and very high interest rates on the car being its brand new and not on high demand. So i'm testing a G35 this morning.

I was up till 6 a.m. last night researching and reading cause I want this next purchase to be right for me. I don't want to regret it like the Grand Am so basically anything will be better than what I have but still. I noticed the G35 owners complained about the Bose radio system, the friction point on the clutch being too high and had to be readjusted to comfortably drive with it (I'll just get the AT most likely) and other things. But I want to ask you guys, what you think bout the G. I think it fits my ideal perfect, it has a sunroof, its quick and very sport and atleast I think its comfortable (I haven't gotten a chance to sit in it for longer than 5 minutes at the auto show). The price, interest rate and incentives are what i'm hopefully banking on in order to get either the G or the GTO because I still have to pay off my loan and i'm hoping with the money I get from insurance I can pay off more of the GA, sell it and still have a downpayment for either car.

So i'm done blabbing, I was up till 6 a.m. reading and now i'm up and hardly thinking straight, so give me your opinions! What should I look for? Nice things about the car, bad things about the car, should I wait till 2005 like everyones saying?

Wow...the test drive went amazing. He gave us the key and said have fun, be back in 30 minutes. And we used every minute of it! The car was amazing, I loved the manumatic. Being that i'll be commuting, it'll be so nice to have the option of shifting manually if I want. I know its going to be hypocritical buying a sports car in an auto, but still I've never consistently driven a stick before so I'd rather not learn now on a 35k car! He's calling me tomorow with lease and buy options cause my payments will be outrageous if I get the Coupe with leather premium and wheel/aero package with navi. I didn't think i'd want Navi at all but man was it fun to drive with. The dealership was full of ******** and we actually ended up walking to the used car section where someone finally approached us and we explained the predicament (me and my gf) and finally he said to visit a specific guy at the showroom and he was totally awesome with everything. Hopefully he does call me tomorow, I can't wait to get rid of the grand am now!

you will love the car. It was my first manual also, and it is easy to pick up on. I do nto have history to compare the clutch tension to other cars, but it does seem a bit stiffer than my roommates Z, nothing that bothers me. I have a moderate commute and i LOVE the manual during it. hehe. As for the Bose radio, most complaints about those were more in the Z than the G from what I read and that was more of a past complaint, have not heard of them in a while.

You will love the car. Personally between teh GTO and the G, the gto is fast and will haul ****, but the additional perks and plushness of the g35 far out does the dull boring interior and look of the GTO in my opinion. But I love my g35 interior. Oh well...navi is nice, but if money is an issue, drop it and save the couple grand.

Good luck and let us know what you decide to do

I traded my Daytona Blue 350z Touring for a G35C.

Thought I would regret it at first.

Now I love every second my of G35. Somehow my clutch is much shorter than my Z. The Bose system on the G35C is 10x clearer than than my Z. My G35 has a sunroof which my Z didn't. My G35 also have volume control on the steering wheel which my Z doesn't.

G35C is one of the best decision I ever made.

I hope you get one to.
