"like it isn't even dropped" means something's probably wrong, but as for the rear being SLIGHTLY higher than the front, that would be proper, as that creates the correct look from the side of the car where the wheelwells look balanced and a VERY slight rake which looks aggressive. The alternative being a completely equal drop which leaves the @ss looking slightly saggy which is a frequent abomination of lowered coupes and needs to stop.

On most modern cars the front wheel well is a little higher in arch due to the front wheels needing to turn to aim the vehicle. Because of this, when looking from the side, if you drop the car evenly there will be less clearance or space b/w top of tire and edge of arch opening in the rear and it will look like the @ss is sagging. This is why most sport springs tend to drop the front of a car very slightly more than the rear, to keep it looking decent.

yea, but i think with some springs where the rear is so minimal, it actually makes the rear look higher because of the front drop.

Tein springs lower in a staggered fashion by design, just look at Tein's web site at their spring specs. And Tein Coilovers should be dropped that way as well.

If one is unhappy with their lowering springs as in offering too much height in the rear, you can alway's pull the upper rubber spring seats and cut some material off as they are mighty thick to begin with. Simply cut off the amount of material needed to drop the rear by the amount you want.

Your shop manuel gives specific ride height info for oem rims and tire's. Measure and compare to your current ride height and see what front and rear drop amounts truely are. This way you eye's can't play any trick's on you.

i agree that before the drop, the gap in the front was pretty bad compared to the rear, but now it seems that the rear gap is bad...haha.

are you saying cut the springs in the rear?i dont know if i want to do that. i'm thinking about picking up some tein stechs for a G or Z and just putting the rear springs in. i like the drop i got in the front from the htechs.

thanks for you input guys.

NO, do not cut the springs. Re-read GSedan35's post carefully - he said "upper rubber spring seats". Thats the rubber part the top of the spring fits into.

I think they make the rear higher becuase it handles better. I like the look of my car. I was going to cut the springs a little bit so it would be more even but since i put the rear splash guards on I think that it makes it look sick.

Yeah, I would neeeeeeeeeeever tell someone to cut their springs.

Here's a pic of a pair of upper rear spring seats. The one on the right is uncut. The one on the left is cut and is sitting on a pair of shims I made. No one makes these parts in poly, so I bypassed that.

[sorry cut and paste, don't know why this board has Vbulletin set up to not work with montypics]
