Default What do you guys think?

I need your opinions on this one guys. Basically my friends don't believe that i can hit 14.9 in the 1/4 mile with my stock 5AT G35 coupe. I think i can. So i asked them if they would like to put some money on it and they said sure. So do you guys think i can hit 14.9's or better???

Yes. Turn vdc off and go at it, shouldn't be a problem at all!

ps- if they want to bet more than you want to bet them, I'll back you up with some cash too.

Yeah, seriously. My 5AT CL TypeS could run a 14.8-14.9 stock and it was 260/232. No reason 280/270 with a better torque curve and only maybe 50-100lbs more vehicle weight shouldn't be able to run at least as well.

For reference, a 4AT Camaro Z-28 of the '93-'97 generation (LT1 motor) which was rated 285/300, IIRC, could run around a 14-flat and that thing weighed like 3200lbs. We're only shy maybe 30tq from that thing and adding 200lbs weight. No reason a 5AT G35 Coupe shouldn't hit 14.6 stock, in my conservative estimation.

YES EASY....

just try to do it on a cool night. There was someone that did a 14.9 14.7 in a 5at on a different forum. so i dont see why you cant do it.

Take out a spare for some weight savings.... that should help a bit.
