Default +18 hp on new '05s...

i recently saw on the infiniti website that the six speed manual coupe has 298bhp i was wondering if anyone know the REAL deal behind this +18 increase in bhp, i've seen people talk about change in ECU, plenum, anyone know the real deal?

Being that they aren't out yet, I wonder if anyone really knows. They do state that they have added variable exh cam timing to the mix in 05. Seeing that they are gaining hp and loosing torque....it sounds like those cam (timing) changes. Just my $.02.

We are all excited. Personally, I am anxious to see the new brakes on the 6MT!

It's the upgraded engine that is also in the Track and 35th Anniv Z 6spds.

Read this latest Infiniti press release. It mentions the "revised" engine along with the M45/35 announcements.

i've heard the drop in lb/trq is is a good thing... instead of having more torque that drops at around 4K rpms, now the torque is expected to be there a lot longer, possibly untill redline

do you think it will do anything to 1/4 mile time/ trap speed in stock form?
How do you think this setup will respond to mods?

if you want to see the brakes, just look at the AT models. should be the same.

Wow, I really hope that is wrong. The brakes help make the 6MT! I think a lot of people will be angry if you are right.

anyone know the stopping distance between the brembo brakes and oem brakes? off the '03 - '04 models just to get a rough estimate on '05s?

Default 2005 brakes

if you weave through the www.infinitinews.com web site, they list the 2005 brakes as all being the same size (sedan, coupe, 6mt). BUT they are larger than the stock 2004 brakes. They are now about the same size as 2004 brembos.
