Default Next Mod and how am i shooting fire out of my exhaust?

Well, its been a while since i been here. Ive still got the mods in my signature and im going to add the kinetix plenum in 2 weeks, along with a set of brandnew nittos. I was wondering what the next best mod is for me? i was thinking crank pulley. I am staying NA, and only race straight line, no curves in Florida. just something to keep in mind for any suggestions. 2nd..my car has been having problems. when i release the cluth out of 1st on my intial startups there is ALMOST ALWAYS a loud squeak, drone of a sound comming from the front right quadrant of my car. could it be tranny (im on my 2nd), or possibly anything to do with fire comming out of my exhaust when i change gears (i was told this happens by a couple friends). Is that due to lack of back pressure and does that mean that i need to change anything? such as add the plenum to increase intake? i just dont know. thanks guys

Hmm.. You shouldn't be backfiring. I have Test Pipes/Pulleys/Y-Pipe/Exhaust and no backfiring maybe your fuel curve is messed up. You should get it fixed before you do any other mods.

NA for a Z is really a pain in the ***. Look to spend alot of money for a few ponies.. Let me suggest the following:

3.9 Final Drive
Tilton Flywheel/Clutch
Cams
Plenum
Headers

Also use the search function, there was a really good NA mod thread awhile back.

the fire is because there is lingering fuel in your exaust. You are running rich. Running rich is engine insurance. It prevents detonation. All the fuel never burns but all the air has enough fuel to combust when it is supposed to and not out of sequence. The unused fuel ends up coming out of the exaust where it is ifnites on the hot exaust tips that are designs to decentrazile exaust heat away from the rest of the car and exaust system. Exaust tips store a lot of the heat.

The result is fast and furious style pops. It's funny actually, ive seen this, it;s not as dramtic as the movies its like a round ball of poof at once, *** opposed to the constant jetting strreams they have at movies while vin diesel revs.!!!

You see the backfires in a lot of turbo'd cars, the ones I've seen have been Evo's and WRX's, as orange peel said the backfires are exaggerated in the movies, its more like a puff of smoke and fire although I did see one STi that did it and it looked pretty cool.

or you can buy those aftermarket flame thrower kits that go in your exhaust pipe that can make it movie-style.

Haha, I saw an add for one in a magazine by autoloc that advertised it shooting flame up to 20 feet behind your car. What kind of stupid **** is that? Set the car behind you on fire?

Yeah, you can get flame throwers but you have to have test pipes to use them.

It is because you are running extremely rich and the unburnt fuel has gone gaseous and ignite during expulsion.

I'd be more curious why you car is running like that.

do you sit at idle alot??? and then rev up really high through the gears....cuase i could see why gas is collecting in your exhaust...when i used sea foam i had alot of stuff sitting in my exhaust and when i revved it up alot of **** flew out of the back....not as much as i expected but eneough... and if i had test pipes i probably would have seen a few pops and snaps from fire....no doubt in my mind...
