Default Installed RSR exhaust and my INTERIOR IS FALLING APART

Hello all 350z lovers,

I just got my RSR exhaust yesterday and I slapped them on just now.

GOD, that exhaust is LOUD... too loud..

my car is playing a sympanhy with the new part...

at 1,000 revs.. the lisense plate starts rattling

at 2,000 revs.. my whole trunk starts rattling

at 3,000 revs.. the lisence plate, trunk, and MY A** is rattling..

at 4,000 revs... things start to quiet down and the exhaust starts doing a solo

at 5.000 to 6,600 revs.. that thing is just singing like that fat dude that's really famous.. forgot his name ... more like screaming.. but its great

I dun mind the sound after 4,000 revs.. but before that.. the car just sounds like ****.. I am sure it sounds great outside.. but inside.. I all that interior rattling.. and that really turns me off

does anyone know how to fix this? Dynomats I heard?

Anythign else, LOTS of the parts seems to be rattling

I put in the silencers, and the car sounds kinda funny to me.

The deep throat is almnost totally eliminated.. and it sounds werid.

thanks for the advice.

people told me to drill holes in the silenecer. Just four holes.. so it ouwld be as loud as no silencers.. but not as .. werid as w/ slieneers

Yea, adding the silencers really alters the aggressive look of the exhaust and brings the note back to a stock type of sound.

I know what your thinking after the install, dear g*d what did I get myself into. LMOL! I went for my first ride after the install, and was like oh boy I don't think I can stand this. BUT IT SOUNDS SOOO GOOD!

Anyway, trust me. Give the exhuast a couple months to break in. Right now it probably sounds really raw. After a few months it smooths out quite a bit. Plus, you ears get used to it. I drive with my silencers out everday.

Another thing you can do is go to home depot. They sell a sound deadener for under pergot floors. It's green. Cut a few layers and put it under the trunk mat and/or line the spare tire well with it. It could help deaden' the sound a bit too.

As for the rattling, i've never had rattling in my Z, and after the RS-R install it's still relatively rattle free. Except on cold days, I can hear a few panels rattling.

1) tighten down the bolts on the plate, mined doesn't rattle at all and I have a Z plate frame with it.
2) for the interior rattles, people have dynomatted the trunk and eliminated that.
3) Wait for it to smooth out, and watch the necks break!

you are my SAVIOR!! haha

hope I spelt that right..

they shoudl really have spell checks in these message box thingys.... MS word in a way spoiled me.. now I can't spell anything

yeah, I was like.. dude.. I am such a freaking idiot.. I just destoryed my Z.. haha

I will give it a few weeks to let it break in. My RX8 has a B&B exhaust, its loud too... but there is the trunk and the rear seat between me and the exhaust.. probably that;s why its not as loud as this RSR..

thanks a lot tho!!

for my interior rattles, they come mostly from the right side of the rear strut bar. I am goign to take that apart and see what's going on there.

Everything else seems fine, just at 3,000 rpm.. the exhaust is just realyl crazy at the RPM.. so DEEP... so nice..

haha

this sounds kinda stupid, but maybe if u buy an extra set of silencers so u have 2 pairs, you could experiment with the hole drilling or widen diameter of center hole and then if u over do it ull still have another pair of silencers.

don't worry. in about 2 weeks it should calm down. it usually takes atleast 2 weeks to break-in the exhaust. so if it is still going nuts after that long then you may have a problem.
