I'd definitely be interested in a B-pipe for a G35.

Instead of getting a 3" y-pipe and b-pipe combo, why not just get something like the Kinetix y-pipe which matches the 2.5" stock system? I just found out about that part today, so I'm really thinking about going that route instead. No b-pipe to purchase.

I guess you have to get a b-pipe if you've already gotten a 3" y-pipe, but the folks who haven't gotten anything yet might want to consider the Kinetix y-pipe instead. Just keep the stock b-pipe and muffler.

But the whole point is to get as much 3" piping as you can, the muffler doesn't matter but the b pipe does so why just get a y-pipe?

So by going with 3" piping throughout will you gain more HP than 2.5" piping?

exactly, plus some of us are doing FI and the 3" piping helps with that

Wait a sec, that doesn't make sense. Your exhaust system is only as big as the smallest point. If you have a 4" pipe all the way back, with a taper down to the 2.5" muffler at the end, you'll only flow as good as a 2.5" system. In fact, it might be less because that taper can cause problems recompressing the exhaust gases.

No because the taper is at the end allowing the back pressure to be further down fromt he engine and it is when it reacches the muffler, either way the have dyno numbers to back it. Here is info I had posted a while ago:

The base dyno was 237.2 HP and 231.9 TQ
Straight only 242.4 HP & 239.2 TQ increase = 5.2 HP & 7.3 TQ
Y-pipe and straight 248.2 HP & 243.2 TQ increase = 11 HP & 11.3

Any one chime in if a I am wrong, but a 3" pipe is a 3" pipe. Why not go to a local muffler shop and get one fabricated? That's what I did with my set up. After all it is a straigth pipe. 3" equals 3" matter who makes it.

Here's pic of mine. I went to Miami Muffler, a loal shop. They also have an internet bussiness. I paid $600 for the test pipes, y-pipe, 3" b pipe, and Greddy SP2 install (I brought the SP2). I don't know how much the 3" pipe alone would cost.

Here's the web address

Since my instruction manual is in japanese, does anyone happen to know the torque specs for the y-pipe and b-pipe?

23-28 ft-lbs mid-pipe to muffler
38-47 ft-lbs mid-pipe to y-pipe connection
34-44 ft-lbs y-pipe to cats

That being said I just torque until they are really tight and no leaks.
