Default Kinetix V2

I am buying this off my friend. It has 500 miles on it and he ran NOS. Is this a bad idea? It is in perfect shape. What should I look out for with this plenum (besides over-tightening the bolts)

Thanks

If the price is right, jump all over it! As you say, don't overtighten! You might want to consider contacting Kinetix and see about upgrading to V4.

I still have my V2. I keep it for backup just incase anything ever happens to my V4. I'm running a 100 shot of n20 and have had no problems @ all

No! V2, V3 and now V4 came about due to problems. Mostly cracking at different areas of the plenum. Each change got better. I still have my original V1 and V3. Never had a problem with major problem with V3, small crack, but never developed in an air leak. Kinetix upgraded V3 to V4 due to crack. I went with V3 and V4 when I installed FI.

You might get lucky. Kinetix might swap out at no charge.

do you think they would swap it even if I am not the original owner? Why are they cracking in NA applications???

Have your friend contact Kinetix and inquire about a possible no cost upgrade.

Numerous reasons. ALL have been addressed by Kinetix in threads and posts since the initial V1 was installed. Some of the reasons include: Over torquing and design problems. The V4 is holding up VERY well in both NA and FI. Even recent posts, where problems exist, it is as a result of improper installation (i.e. over torquing).

I would not install a V2 plenum, it will inevitably crack in time.

It will crack under NA or FI.

However if the person you are buying it from has NOT received their V4 replacement, then you can exchange the V2 for a new V4 plenum, no charge. If the original owner has already received a replacement, then you will not be entitled to warranty.

This has happened SEVERAL times, because we do not force the customer to send old versions back, sometimes they get sold. We have even had people buy already cracked V3 plenums and they find out they arent entitled to a new V4 replacement.

If you want, you can PM and I will check status on warranty if you get the original persons info.
