I tired searching under various terms, but couldn't find anything.
My neighbor was telling me about his adventures with the smog shops (that they visually inspected his car with intake and since it wasn't CARB approved, they wouldn't even touch it). Those of you with Injen intakes (especially in CA), how do you deal with Smogging the car?
He was telling me that the shop sent him to the dealer to run tests on it, or something of that nature ($250 later) and in the end he had to take the intake off.
What is everyone's experience with Cali smogging and INjen intakes, CARB cert., etc.

I had the same issue with my 91 civic hatch.
Smog people wouldn't even touch my car after
visibly seeing the intake/headers.
FYI. my car passed smog even w/the mods taking
it to a shop that a friend of mine recommended.
u just gotta know who to take em to.

I prefer legal parts if at all possible.
This thread here might help, it has a list of what is CARB certified and how to look it up. Basically, if something is certified it is supposed to come with a sticker that you put under the hood. If you keep your mods to the stuff on the list they can't fail you based on the mods.

I don't know what to do about the fact that I got mine before it was certified, so I have no sticker, I do have the document in the car but I don't think this will help.
