I just got an email back form Injen regarding CARB status (last I heard it was pending). They got their approval last month.

Too bad I had to take mine out because it was making the engine run too lean. Well, that's according to Gary from Steven's Creek after he had Consult take some readings.

I don't want to take this to far off topic but...

Yeah... Jim Wolf Tech says their TT system is going through the final certification for CARB and will be released upon passing, and supposedly this is any day now.

Rough specs on that is:
Twin water cooled Garrett ball bearing pumps
No mods to the bumper, radiator, motor stays in the car during install.
Cast manifolds.
two smaller intercoolers side by side instead of one giant one.
128 more HP at the wheels @ 6psi

If anyone is curious Vortech is trying to get CARB on an 2005 model. If the 2005 model is certified than so is the 2004 and 2003. Whereas if they certified the 2003 it wouldn't count for 2005.

 

so does this mean the Nismo CAI is carb legal since it is a rebadge AEM...?

 

it might, is there any place on it with a part number that matches the aem numbers?

I am also wondering how those with current Injen CAI can get the sticker.

So Lou....keep me up on the vortech carb. Is it just around the corner on the vortech, including the 2003 and 2004 model. What does this mean? = " Whereas if they certified the 2003 it wouldn't count for 2005."

 

Keep in mind running a product through testing is quite expensive, so a company like Vortech only wants to do it once.

The 2003 and 2004 are ULEV, the 2004.5 and 2005 are ULEVII.
If it passes for the higher standard (ULEVII), CARB assumes it can't hurt the lower standard, so they pass it on the whole line.

Will the 2005 perform same as others equally, or will it improve? i.e. increase hp, quality, etc., or be same except newer?
