A lesson in "branding".

350EVO has developed such a good reputation that they can "tease" us since march, without even a pict or anything, and we still salivate for the ghost item. Impressive.

Do you realize that if this was "software" by now people would be calling it "vaporware"? Does that apply to hardware as well?

The above statements should be read with a smile on the face and a tone of sarcasm. I am glad 350EVO and other vendors here share their development ideas and plan and discuss issues with us. This is what want out of our vendors.

It is the behaviour of the audience that is interesting to me. How we "trust" or not, how we argue, etc, and how brand recognition and reputation get associated. Very interesting for those in Marketing fields.

Very true. Same thing can be said about the 350EVO short shifter - Version 3 update.

I love you guys!

The situation with the intake manifold project is a little difficult. By going the route we are going..which is getting the absolute top quality people on the project to design develop and produce the very best part...we are at the mercy of their workload.
Being the top level company that they are......NASCAR engine builder, IRL engine builder,Offroad truck engine builder, Chassis developer etc, etc.
Once the project is complete.....it will be the real deal.
I am just as anxious to see the prototype part as you guys are.

I switched to no emails. The control panel should list it if something new is in it.

Pricing looks like it will be between $999-$1150. The time on the R&D has added a little more to the cost than expected. The complete manifold will be a combination of alum. and carbon and will be def someting to stare at when the hood is open.
As it stands right now we are looking at releasing it in time for X mas as long as everything from here goes smoothly.
The guys we have working on this project are well know for the engineering in the racing word...and not just for building motors.
Cheers

Sweet! I better start saving for this mod. I am guesstimating a release date of May 2006

Bwahah... and use your girlfriends credit card for the full gift receiving effect! Anyways, seems pretty expensive for an IM. I want to keep my intake so I'm hoping its just the upper and lower plenum/manifold piece. Oh and how about those new headers?

Our manifold will bolt to the head...replacing runners, lower manifold and upper manifold. Have to look at what is going into its design, the quality of the part, both stlye and performance gains.

Hey, I trust you guys when it comes to products that work so no worries from me. But, if it's going to run into the 1k price range I will eyeball it pretty fierce for awhile. As you know, the Kinetix SSV has been a pretty big dissapointment even with FI in that the initial claimed gains were no where close to the gains buyers actually got from the IM. With that said I have faith in you guys, take as long as you want and produce a product that performs. Oh and I'm sure alot of board members would love to do independent dynos for ya...
