Default The loudest street driven Z

Ok... i dont know what i'm thinking but i acctually like it.

I have a stillen cat back and high flow cats and i was doing some undercarage cleaning and ended up taking off the rear section on the exhaust to polish it (the muffler + tips). well i ran out of polish and had to go get some so i just cranked up the car with out the muffler and DAMN!!!!
Sounds like a jgtc car in my driveway.

So i roll on by to the local muffler shop and had the guy weld up a couple of extensions (temporary bolt on type) so that the pipes would come all the way out the back.

I get more looks and people asking me what kind of exhaust i have because it sounds so MEAN!>

Just thought i would share and i dont have accecss to any equipment to get a sound clip... just close your eyes and imagine standing on the starting grid of a formula 1 race

I love a loud rear end as well

Loudest i have heard is a HKS dual hi power, test pipes, and DC headers setup. Crazy. But i loved it.

that would qualify as the loudest if one were crazy enough to run straight headers....i was almost tempted to do this last week when i installed my dc sport headers....but i didn't want to attract any unneccessary attention

i would bet that sounds really good though

with open headers the Z is crazy loud. i started her up in my friends garage when we were installing my test pipes and it was crazy. i could never deal with driving around like that.

taking the muffler off on the other hand is loud but not too loud and sounds sweet! i disconnected the muffler when installing my rear sway bar and it sounded awesome. since then ive been thinking of doing the same thing as you and getting a pipe made to go all the way back, but ive been too busy with school to get it done.

well i have the RT high flow cats and the front half of the stillen cat back (3" stainless H-pipe w/ resonators), then the straight pipe so it sounds AWSOME! definetly an attention getter.

I also disconnected the muffler for fun, and thought i sound so good I later went to the muffler shop and had them install a muffler delete pipe. It was only $60.00, sounds great, and about 35lbs lighter. Even got a tad more top end, plus lost extra weight, worked out for me just fine.

Okay, I'll bite, what is a "muffler delete pipe"? Are you talking about a by-pass pipe that can be manually open and closed from inside the car or what? Also, how do you get by smog tests with this pipe installed?

Inquiring minds want to know.

i think he means just a pipe to extend to the rear bumper (so the exhaust isn't blowing out under the car), completely replacing the muffler canister and the stock two tips. I'd really like to do this instead of paying serious money for an exhaust which really isn't going to do much (at least until i can afford to go f/i).

03daytonablue - do you have any pictures??
