Exhaust Systems
Hey everyone I just got my Z yesterday!! Traded in my 1995 BMW M3 for an 03 Track edition, with 15k miles on it. Anyways, to the point. I apologize if this has already been mentioned and if so can someone post a link to the thread? I was hoping you guys could give me some insight into exhaust systems. I am looking for a catback system with two things to consider. I hate loud exhaust systems, and I love horsepower.
With that in mind, what would you suggest for me? Also, even if it is loud, which system has shown the best performance gains so far? I have been looking at Borla, Apexi World Sport, HKS, and many others. Thanks in advance for the replies.
If you have the money, I would go with the HKS Dual Hi-Power Ti or APS or even Invidia G200 titanium exhaust, I haven't seen any numbers yet for the APS. All three of those are kinda expensive, around 1k or more. I've also seen some nice numbers somewhere on the Greddy EVO2, but I think that it's too lound for your taste. May be even some of the exhausts I mentioned above might be too loud for you.
Anyways, here is a good start, link to couple sounds clips:

I am strongly considering either the Fuji Legalis R, Fuji Elegance, or Apex'i World Sport 2. Gains from any exhaust are minimal on this car so I would base your purchase on sound.

IMO,
- Greddy Evo2 - it's not loud. I'm running headers and tests on it and it's perfectly acceptable. I even started the car with the mufflers off and it was still bearable.
- HKS true duals - I love the look, but the sound is marginal IMO. Has somewhat of an exotic tone to it.
- APS - looks very stock. The sound is OK. In the clips I have heard, it is basically a slight difference than stock.
these are the 3 exhausts I was considering. My requirements were:
1.) Sound - Wanted a nice exhaust tone. Wanted a bit deeper than stock, but not the sound of a Ford truck with duals.
2.) Volume - didn't want anything too loud or droned!
3.) Looks - prefered the look of the dual mufflers like the HKS and Greddy
