JWT Popcharger Install ??
Well I've had my pop-charger on about a week now and I have to say I love it! Even if it didn't give me any gains the sound is WELL worth the $120. No stalling problems, no SES Light, no Idle problems, if anything it idle's smoother and the whistle from about 2500-4k is great but the throaty tone it gives the exhaust at 5000+ is just sick. I was debating between this and the K&N Typhoon and I am very happy i went with the JWT. Anyway my question is to any of you who have installed it, how did you screw the heat shield into the plastic snorkel? What did you use to punch the holes and does it really make a difference? It seems that the heat shield stays just fine with the two bolts that hold it to the frame? That piece that sits up near the snorkel doesn't come in contact with anything else without those screws so do I really need them? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys for the responses, i guess i need to work on my wrist strength lol. I've had it on for a while now without the screws in there and it seems ok but i may try the saudering iron trick just to give me peace of mind.
I was in contact with JWT about this as well. I have worked on cars for 15 yrs and heres how i did it. First, get a sharp point(from a drywall screw or deckscrew) position the snorkel where you want it to meet the heat shield. Use the sharp point to mark where the holes should go. Now, pop out the rivet on the snorkel if you havent already and turn the snorkel one quarter turn clockwise(this takes some pushing, but it will go and you wont damage it, its plastic and bends) You have now exposed the 2 marks you made and can easily drill holes where the screws need to go. Drill the holes, rotate the snorkel back to where it should go and pop the rivet back in. Now the tricky part...the factory screws are a pain in the *** to get in even with a stubby philips...most people dont have one that stubby...so you have 2 options, go to your local hardware store and buy 2 screws of similar thread and length with a hex head and use a box wrench or socket OR get a bent philips tool and spend 15 minutes screwing the factory screws in! FYI, i passed this info to their engineers and he said they would make these adjustments to the instructions and hardware for future kits...whether or not it happens, I dont know, but hey, I wish someone would have shared with me when i did my install! Good luck...doesnt that thing sound incredible!!! dont get much gas mileage anymore bc i love that 4700 -6900 rpm sound!!!

Spend the money, well worth it(i bought mine at http://intensepower.com/) not to run a commercial for them, but they got it here DHL within a week of order...unless you want to race. Have pulled up to the line with a few spirited drivers that heard me gun it up to the line and dont even look over. Honestly, the next best sound to a BOV. ...which I will have in the next 12 months. Shooting for 400 at the wheels first, then, funding not limiting, a built engine and 600+...nice to have dreams eh? I'll have a few tricks in the mean time, stay tuned, and tuned well!
BOV=blow off valve...its used in a turbo set up to avoid boost spikes and help maintain boost between shifts. When you let off the gas and have a turbo, there is a lot of pressure that builds between the throtle body and the turbo which would normaly slow the impeller of the turbo. The BOV helps reduce this and thus allow the the turbo to keep spinning. The sound of one ussualy means you better bring it!
