Methanol/water coolers
I've heard of these, even found a company that makes them...The question is, has anyone used one, what results did they get, NA or FI?
Thanks...this could be a relatively inexpensive way to get some more power out of an NA or FI engine
Sorry, the search feature finaly worked, was getting errors. If you are interested, do a search for 'methanol' lots of info there

i haven't try it, but from my chemistry background, methanol is usually used as a solvent who has a very low boiling point(~60 dgree c).so i dont know if using this for cooling will be such a good idea.
a mist of water/meth injected near the throttle body serves to cool the air. since it is not running through your fuel lines, there are no problems with the seals...the ussual application is for FI engines where i have heard of some pretty dramatic gains. i was just curious as to the effects on an NA engine. i found my answer in other previous threads which is what i expected. it seems to only have a negligible effect on NA.
Thanks for the reply though.
