Default SES Light on with kinetix plenum?!?!?!

My friend got his Z out yesterday, first time since installing the plenum since we finally got some decent weather, and the SES light was on. He says the performance is fun, but he don't like SES lights. What could cause this? Is this another one of those clear it and it won't come back situations?
