Default K&N oil filter... insane

**** me... I just received my HP1008 K&Noil filter. This is the filter K&N reccomends for 350z...

IT'S freaking smaller than the OEM filter, wich is already insanely small....wtf

aren't these supposed to be performance oil filters?

Get the Mobil M1-110. I'm not sure if K&N has an equivalent, but it's much larger than the stock filter, and very well constructed.

Amsoil's oiled foam panel filters are pretty nice too.

I was blown away by the lawn mower filter as well. I bought the 1008 to be used as my synthetic transition filter and then I'm switching to a 1006 which another member (lowrider) is using and is a little longer. I've used K&N oil filters for years and I wouldn't consider using anything else. Maybe I just love being able to throw a wrench on the end of the damn thing but either way its a great filter.

I use the K&N HP1006. It has a little larger OD and is a little longer. Before I started using it I called K&N and spoke to a Tech. I told him I wanted a filter with a larger capacity. He checked his specifications , and recommended the HP1006. The pressure ratings are the same, and it fits just fine.

LOL - I didn't read the post above, guess I should have, huh?
