Default kinetix v4 plenum questions

Just have a couple of questions about the v4. What amout of torque do you need to tighten the bolts around the plenum? Also, can you install the plenum without taking off the strut bar?

Thanks

I believe the torque was around 72 in-lb. I think it would be much easier to do it without the strut bar. I removed mine to do the install.

Also, you think it would be possible to do it without taking it off? I am getting one used. Do you think it would be good to put teflon tape around all the bolts?

Thanks

I am not positive on the torque. I think thats the value bot NOT POSITIVE. 72 in-lbs would be 6 ft-lbs.

I think you do have to remove it because the strut bar will sit in a dip in the plenum and that wouldnt go with out removing. Again, not positive if it can be done without removing STB.

Do you have a V4? Did you buy a used one off someone and they didnt have instructions?

no, you have to take it off, you will not be able to fit the new plenum under the strut bar. Also, you may want to get some washers to fit under the bolts of the strut bar. More than likely it will rub on your strut bar causing bad vibrations at higher rpms. The torque specs on the plenum bolts are 6ft/lbs or 72 inch lbs. The instructions that come with the plenum also say to use the oem gasket with it, i would advise against it since mine still leaks because of it.

I bought a v4 from a guy from this site. Hopefully it will come in the next few days. It is used so I was thinking it may not come with directions. I seen a good writeup here at http://www.350zfreak.com/plenum.htm , but those earlier version plenums listed some different torque settings for the version 1 and 2 plenums.
