Ordered a Popcharger today and I have a quick question.
Is there anything I should do besides just installing it in my 2005 Grand Touring Roadster? I have read some posts saying to disconnect the battery for a few hours to clear the ecu. Other post have said to manually reset the ecu by using the pedal method. (I lost the link to that method.) And other posts have said to just install it and hope for no CEL. Any suggestions for a 2005 model?

I already had about 10K miles on my car when I installed the popcharger. I went 3 days of driving carefully & giving the car hell with the popcharger on. Only at the end of the 3rd day did I get a CEL light. Weird huh? I expected to get a CEL at least the day of install. I performed the pedal ECU reset method and I never saw a CEL light since then. I'm at 16K miles now.
same here, though i had mine installed by the dealership, i never had the cel light issue -or any issue at that-...so yea just keep your eye on the maf when you install! ive had mine for about 20k miles or so, and i drive with a whole lot of spirit...
dont mean to thread jack, but is reseting the ecu by pedal of any use aside from clearing the cel??

Bump to above ?
I installed the JWT, no cel, no resetting ecu. Plan on installing a catback exhaust...is an ecu reset necessary then? Does it really help the computer 'learn' and therefore adjust to the 'added' power? Maybe not worded right but you get my drift.

Shouldn't have to reset the ecu for an exhaust, I've never ran into with previous cars, never heard of anyone with any car having to reset ecu after a exhaust swap. Just my 2cents though
I installed it today and did the manual/pedal cpu reset. After that I went for a 20 mile ride. So far no CEL.
Here is a short review:
It was fairly easy to install. I heated up a small drill bit to start the holes in the intake nozzle to attach the heat shield. I didn't like that the top screw was rubbing against the radiator so I used a small nut to act as a spacer/washer so it wouldn't penetrate far enough to rub. Besides that everything else went fine. The heat shield is a little close to an a/c line but its not touching so it should be fine. Overall, a very easy mod.
In the short time I've driven with it I do like it. It has a nice sound to it. It sounds stock at low rpms and less than wot. At higher rpms and at wot it is much louder than stock. I can't tell from my butt dyno whether or not it added any hp. It does seem to pull slightly harder at upper rpms and it seems to hit redline a little quicker.
For only $110.00, this mod is worth every penny. Thanks everyone for the recommendations.
BTW, I've only had my Z for a little over a month. I just started to open it up after I hit 1200 miles. I only have 1700 on it now. So far I do love the car. It has great low and midrange power. It pulls hard to redline but I'm not too impressed with the top end. I think its because I am so use to a Honda. I like the top end hit the S-2000 and Prelude have. Of course they don't have any low end so I guess thats the trade off. But even the Accord V6 seems to have a stronger top end. Which doesn't make any sense because it has like 50 less hp. I don't know. Maybe its just that the Z is smoother and since it has so much low/midrange that the top end is less pronounced.
Anyway, I don't think I am going to change anything else on this car unless I spring for FI. After reading these forums for the last month it seems that NA mods only make a small increase in performance and can get very expensive. Maybe over the winter I will look into FI.
