Default x pipe.. on a Z?

so im coming up with more ideas for my custom exhaust... i was looking at a post on a mustang board, and they were talking about X pipes and how mean they sound.. would they work well on our Z? i heard theyre good for making torque and hp... what would be the best for the Z? i wanna make it loud but i dont want the police staring at me at 3k rpm..

I had an "H" pipe installed in my Injen SES exhaust and I know of at least one person that has an "X" in his SES. Helps to smooth out the sound. Well worth the $47 I spent to have it installed.

I have heard a custom X pipe on the borla, it made no power and it quieted the sound.

I put a custom x-pipe on my injen... changes the sound of the system entirely... adds some low-end torque, but theoretically decreases high-end hp (my butt dyno sucks)

the X-pipe mod, IMO, is worth it for the sound alone... in general, you'll find that exhausts that crossflow tend to retain the stock Z sound better than true duals without crossflow (if that's what you're after... the regular injen sound is pretty sweet too)
