Default Borla vs Injen Exhaust

Wondering if anyone can give some input on the better of the two. I'm looking
to purchase either an Injen SES Straight Tip or Boral Dual. Price seems to be
pretty matched for the two. Also is replacing the headers the way to go when
upgrading the exhaust? Thanks.

i went with borla, the sound was better, and look at the history of borla and what cars they make exhaust systems for, Lambos, Ferrari's....etc..the company made a name..the only thing i dont like about it, its that its an american exhaust on an japanes car, but again, the car was designed in the US by an Indian..hahah and the motor is french

I like the sound of the Borla, but what I gather from reading the forums is that due to the massive number of pieces, it's difficult to get the alignment of the tips right and there's a good chance you will have leaks unless you get it welded.

Now I'm considering the Stillen instead...

I think you would be happy with either one. I went with the Injen SES for 2 reasons. I like the looks of the dual mufflers over the single and the SES has a lot fewer joints. Mine installed in the driveway, on jackstands, in just a couple of hours.
The only thing I didn't like about the SES was there was no "X" or "H" pipe, so I had one installed by local exhaust shop.

Between those two I would go with the Injen. Borla sounds nice and all, but has too many pieces, also the hp gain is claimed to be higher on the Injen, at least that's what I saw from couple dyno numbers.

Hey thanks guys for all the responses. Based on what you said, I will probably
go with the Injen Exhaust. I saw the post a while back with the exhaust note
sounds and I actually like the sound of both. So I'm not partial to either one.
Just wanted to get the feedback of those more experienced than me. My Z is
my first car where I've done significant mods so i'm still learning the ins and
outs. Thanks!

Sorry no pics right now. Next time I put the Z up on jack stands I'll take some.

Equalizes the pressure between the 2 pipes and helps smooth out the sound. "X" pipe is better but I had an "H" put in because they couldn't put an "X" where I wanted it (before the resonators). Some guys have had them put in after and some have had the resonators removed and an "X" put in where they were.
