I just saw this & was just about to post a new thread till I saw yours. What's interesting about this one is that it states "Injen's innovative tri-step process and Dyno Tuned sensor adapter eliminates the use of the stock MAF adaptor". Hmm? Wonder if this has a CARB#?

I love that line "Eliminates the stock MAF sensor". I guess it provides you with a new 3 bar map sensor and new ECU too. You can't remove the MAF sensor, haha. I am sure all it does is exactly what the Nismo does. Provides a place in the pipe for you to reinstall the MAF sensor instead of having to use the stupid OEM plastic MAF housing.
I have mine since last january and I can feel the difference. I had a popcharger before Injen Installed this on my car. don't know how much gain it has but my dyno butt can feel the difference and I like the whistling sound also. If you guys need close up pics just let me know.

Has anyone got an A/F graph with this intake installed? It seems to give such a large gain in power, plus moving the sensor from the stock plastic tube into the metal pipe (probably larger in diameter), i have a feeling that power gain is from leaning out the entire powerband due to the sensor reading 'less' air than it should compared to stock air flow meter as the diameter of the pipe probably is slightly larger than the stock air flow meter's diameter.
This can be a good thing as stock 350z run a bit rich, but can be risky if it leads to detonation.
any thoughts?

You should of put the red rubber underneath the hood instead of on the tube. Looks ugly, plus when you pop the hood nobody pays attention underneath the hood but the actual engine bay. Just my .02 cents cause that red thing sticks out like a sore thumb.

to tell you honestly I don't know the difference is compared to nismo. All I know is it eliminates the plastic MAF that's it. plus I don't have the old Injen intake so i cant compare the new one versus the old intake. but I can tell the difference as far as power gain against the popcharger using my butt dyno.
can someone measure the inner diameter of the pipe? If it is narrower compared to stock air flow meter, the power gain must be coming from the sensor not sensing correct amount of air..
I have never seen the product so I cant say im 100% sure.
However, if the sensor is taken out from the stock air flow meter and is put into a pipe that can flow more air (larger diameter of pipe for the sensor reading), the sensor will produce less voltage than it should, as it is matched to read the amount of air through stock air flow meter tube, not something larger.
In short, it is fooling the ECU to think that the engine is sucking in less amount of air. Probably similar effect can be achieved with SAFC or other ECU fooling devices. There had been quite a few 'tricks' to fool the ecu by altering the air flow meter readings by putting a resistor in the sensor wire and etc...
This is why I am so interested in seeing an A/F graph, as it will tell us if its the A/F mixture that gets us more power or not.
Not sure about USA but in other countries including where I live, got much better fuel. We get 91/96/98 octane fuel from local gas stations. 13.5:1 is known as a 'reasonable' A/F ratio for an NA car here. Is this same in USA?
As the ECU will sense less air, it will spray less fuel, making the fuel mixture go lean. I have no idea how stock fuel/timing map is set because I cannot find any info about it on the net, but by looking at the power gain, I am guessing that leaning the mixture out doesn't retard the ignition timing with stock ecu. (maybe it actually advances it with less air coming in?)
I do not think the gain is from lowering the intake temperature. 10+hp for doing so doesn't sound so realistic to me, espeically when the stock air box is already a cold air intake.
