Popcharger deviation...

I got my popcharger today and installed it. I did everything as instructed except drilling/punching the hole and putting the two screws in the snorkel.
I just wedged the snorkel between the heat shield. See attachment.
Has anyone done the same thing as I have? Is there any problems with what I did? Any comments would be helpful.

I think that shield might come off if you hit a bump. Last thing you want is that to fall into your belts & pulleys since it's right next to them. I'm sure it may work for now but sooner or later that thing is going to pop loose.
