Default Re-Oiling a popcharger with different oil than JWT....

I bought a Popcharger yesterday, used, from a guy who recently sold his Z. It appears to be a bit dirty, and having oiled a few filters before, i know this is exactly what it needs is a good rinse and reoil. My question.... do you guys think it is okay to use K&N oil on the JWT popcharger? I dont have any JWT oil and its 15 bucks... I figure I have this K&N oil practically brand new used for oiling my other filters I had, should I just try it out and see. It will turn the popcharger red instead of blue for the time being but do you all think it is worth a try?

I've asked the same question to others not on this board and they say it would be ok to use the K&N oil. Like you said though it will change the color of the filter.

K&N cleaner and oil works fine. I like the red color better as well.

I believe all these filters use the same type of oil on their filters...GM automatic transmission fluid.
