Talking Impressions of new mods UR Pulley & Skunk2 Plenum and need "help!" questions

Now, just a week ago, I wrote my review of how my Hotchkis Sway Bars, DC headers, and JWT popcharger felt when I got them installed...and it was great!

Now it's been a week later, and I just got Unorthodox Racing Pulleys and Skunk2 Plenum Spacer installed.

With the new plenum spacer, there is a slightly louder sound from the already really loud DC headers off a stock exhaust. What the plenum spacer does to my noise is that it makes my engine sound faster and smoother. Before, with only the DC headers, the engine sounded very loud and vicious like it was gonna bite your head off because it'd rise in a screaming rapid staccato grumble. But now, with the skunk2 plenum spacer, it feels more like a screaming rapid v8 ferrari, smooth to the rediline but forcefully loud. On a butt dyno, I feel a slight increase in power and torque.

With the racing pulleys, I'm definetely getting more low to mid range hp and torque. I have no electrical issues by the way...My throttle response has increased. Since I drive an AT5, this makes it even better. I'm sure my car is now easily faster than a stock manual, since I've driven both before.

Now I have a dilemma. I have spent quite a bit of money. This car is a lease, so I don't want to mod it too much, because I will have to sell all my parts in 3 years. So right now, I'm considering suspension mods, tires, rims, and exhaust. I already have hotchkis sways set at medium front and back, and it feels great. I'm now considering either springs or Tein Basic Coilovers. The problem is the Coilovers are a bit pricey for me, and I wonder if it's really worth getting. I was thinking of springs because I read a post on how springs can improve handling. In terms of getting the most out of my money, should I just do springs (and what type is good?) or Tein Basics. The more money I have left from buying the springs, the more likely hood I'll have more money to get the Greddy Evo 2 exhaust (unless any of you know of any cheaper bang for your buck cat back dual exhaust with y-pipe) as well as probably Toyo or Falken tires. What do you guys think? Considering my situation with the money, should I just get springs over coilovers to pair with my sway bars and save the money for tires and rims along with the exhaust (If I do this I might have more money for the 3.5 final drive)? Or should I go straight for tein basics (are they really worth the amount of money I'm spending in comparison to having sways with springs?) I track my car every few months and I wanted to spend as less money as possible, trying to get bang for my buck in terms of everything I've talked about. I may have repeated a few points in the sentences above, BUT THAT JUST SHOWS HOW TORN I AM! AHHH the pain....

I'm in dire need of advice. Please help!

I read that the skunk2 spacer is 5/8th's thick, which usually won't fit under the stock strut bar without modification. Did you have any problems with strut bar clearence? Thanks.

Actually it did. Street Image in socal had to raise something to make it fit. I'm not sure what it was, but they did it for me.

Could you please provide photos? I'd really like to know about all the modification required to make your spacer fit. Were they able to get the engine cover to still fit as well?

Thanks

i had my skunk 2 plenum spacer put on 2 nights ago and it pulls hard we did have to cut my hood for my injen cai( the new one ) i have a 2005 and it did throw a cell my injen did not cause i had put that on earlier during the day. yeah i dont like the silicone but i think it does need it. i am also thinking of taking it off soon and replacing the silicone with another factory gasket so ill have a factory gasket on the bottom and one on the top. it pulls hard at the bottom and i cant tell much up top becasue that injen screams up top and feels nice. all in all i love the mod so far, and would recommend both the skunk2 plenum spacer and injen cai for the 2005 model to anyone it also makes a race car sound kinda. i would recommend instead of using silicone though to just by another gasket and put on with this product. it will look a little cleaner not that mine looks that bad. my next mod is the safc2 so i can tune my air fuel and hopefully get a little more power out of her. she pulls hard all the way to redline now and the throttle response is much better.

The skunk2 spacer stinks (no pun intended) plain and simple.

This thread is probably more accurate on why skunk2 should stick with honda parts
