Default Got my new exhaust! 5Zigen Pro Racer S-Spec w/ Inconel Tip!

After exactly 2 months of waiting I got my 5Zigen Pro-Racer S-Spec Cat Back Exhaust System w/ Inconel Tip.

This exhaust appealed to me because of the way it is routed from the Cats to the tip...

What I was looking for in my new exhaust system...

I wanted something that was going to be single exit and lighter weight then my NISMO Exhaust. This was going to be a single exit exhaust. The problem I see with Single Exit Exhausts is when they exit on the Left Side the rear section is now left acting like a parachute, trapping air under the rear bumper and adding more drag at high speeds. I did not want this to happen, so I looked for exhausts that would cover this area like the Stock Exhaust and NISMO Exhaust. This is why the Pro-Racer S-Spec caught my eye.

It is a full cat-back exhaust system that takes this into consideration. The Exhaust follows the traditional path of single exit exhausts by having a Y-Pipe design to the left side of the under body. With this exhaust, the Muffler goes horizontally across the rear infront of the bumper and basicly acts as a diffuser and hopefully not effecting the low drag coefficient of the stock 350Z chasis.

The next thing about it is the piping design. It isnt a single straight back from the base of the Y-Pipe but it has a dual exhaust design until it gets to the single muffler. The pipe diameters are not too large that the exhaust gasses loose flow and direction, they are not too small that exhaust flow is going to be restricted.

From the Cats all the way to the collector where the piping enters the muffler is 2.25" per side.

Where they join up is 80mm piping through the muffler to the tip.

The other nice thing about this exhaust its the small details with production to increase durability.

All of us with Lowered 350Z's know what it is like to scrape our Exhaust Flex Joints. 5Zigen thought ahead on this one and rather then the flex joints bulging out so they are the first to scrape, they built up stainless steel that sticks out over the flex joints so it will scrape first. Nice touch!

The next thing that looks cool is the Inconel Tip. It has the burnt look on it as well that has become popular on alot of other exhausts as well. Inconel has been used for years in Formula 1 and other racing sports to make ultra-light ultra-durable exhaust manifolds. Its a shame they only used inconel for the tip and not the rest of the exhaust. Then again, if they did... It would be much over its already $1,800.00 MSRP!

I will be installing this exhaust shortly and posting photos as well as sound clips. I have a dyno of my car to date and when I can I will dyno this exhaust as well.

We have these exhausts available for purchase. They are still special order. This unit is the first to be shipped to the USA!

Order your 5Zigen Pro-Racer S-Spec Exhaust here!

Thats a nice looking exhaust.

Is there any benefit running the true dual pipes back that far before merging into a single pipe?

Longer collector = more HP... So in a way this is a longer collector...

We will see how it does!

the price is just absurd for what you get. i think it looks great, but why can't they make a dual tip? now you have a hole where the missing exhaust is.

Wouldn't it be fairly easy for them to offer an option of a muffler with dual tips so guys who don't want the "missing tip" look can buy one, too? The overall design looks interesting with the collector being so far down the exhaust path. I'm looking forward to seeing the dyno numbers.

Well, I am out of money... So Tony put the exhaust on his car and he purchased it... I am ordering another one for me for sure! By the time it gets here I should have the money.. haha!

This exhaust fits PERFECT, even with the GT-Spec full package...

This exhaust is made for the JDM cars so you have to remove the fuel evap shielding... We put some heat wrap around everything so there are no problems... Besides that... I havent seen an exhaust that fits this good since the NISMO was released!

Here is a sound clip... It sounds better then the NISMO! First one I think that does! I LOVE IT!

I well let you all know how this exhaust sounds and feels when i drive it home today. The fitment is excellent, and as you can see, it actually CLEARS the GT spec rear lower tie brace. The price is up there, i'll give it that, but it's similar in price to other high quality exhausts from accross the Pacific... Such as Top secret, Amuse, and the like. This is actually one of the lightest stainless systems we've come accross, the weight was very impressive, and is lighter than the nismo (even with the extra piping etc..)
I know this is not some "Super" or "Miracle" exhaust that adds tons of power, but for the quality and sound alone, it was worth it, and i haven't even driven it yet
