No welding involved in a typical installation. It all bolts together at the stock locations.

The welding I had done was custom work to have a metal tab put on each cat to allow them to bolt to the OEM support bracket. Normally the Helix cats don't have this ability. I just chose to do it for my own peace of mind. To my knowledge everyone on here that uses Helix does not do this nor have they mentioned the need.

No welding needed on mine. The shop, however, may need to slightly modify your floorpan in order for these to fit properly so that it won't rub or vibrate.

modify floorpan = hit it hard with the biggest hammer available
I would hate to see that done to my car

It's not as bad as you make it sound. They just had to hit it a tiny bit, so it won't rub against anything. Wasn't much at all. As mentioned, they MAY do this if needed.

Not really a big deal. Just reshaping the metal a little bit. Can't even see it.

So do you have to pound the floor pan to make the Helix pipes fit properly? I thought it was on the G35 that needed this done.I'm looking to invest in high flow cats but would rather spend the extra so they fit without mods to floor pan.So should I just get the Crawford ones? Also has anyone exprierenced any issues without the oem support brackets not being on the Helix?(cracked, broken welds etc.)
Thanks
Eric
