OEM cats experiment?
I'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not... But who cares right? Anyway, I was curious if anyone has punched out their factory cats? I had friends who did it to their Honda's back in the day to increase air flow because they didn't have $1000 to spend on an exhaust. It came out pretty good, it didn't sound like a damn rust bucket had passed them up. So has anyone made this attempt? If so how did it turn out? How was the sound and sound level?
I did it...
I did it when I had the stock exhaust and nothing else done. Sound was great, it sounded a little louder than stock but still kept the Z sound all the way, never has thrown a CEL, felt a little quicker but not a kick in the pants difference. I believe it's a good mod for no money.

Whoa that sounds cool. Definitely on a budget right now... So just trying to have fun with some temporary mods until I get things organized and on the road to financial recovery. Heh
thats what i am doing this month...waiting for another set of oem cats to come in.....lemme find a thread for you....
