Whats the best intake for the Z, I noticed many people going with the popcharger but I think it looks kinda cheap, for an extra $100 for looks would be worth it. I saw a pic of the nismo v2 and it looked pretty damn good. Any ideas of a good site and model to get? thanks

 

I have been looking into this for 4 months.

I decided to go with the Popcharger. It's cheap and produces positive gains throughout the powerband.

The cold air intakes supposedly lose some power down load but make more up high. I've heard good things about the NISMO, bad things about the AEM, both good and bad things about the INJEN RD, and not enough about the INJEN SP (which i was going to get if i didnt get the popcharger). Also heard good and bad things about the K&N. I searched, so i guess if you don't get enough info here just do that.

Bottom line for me was: I'm not looking to trick out my engine bay. I went for the surified bump in performance and sound for $117 shipped to my door.

It's actually coming here on Monday. So I can't vouch for any performance factors myself, but so many people swear by it.

there is a lot of info on this topic covered in several theads, a lot helpful info and opinions to be found, you could read the threads for days, good luck finding the right intake!

 

Yeah, I have done a search but I figured I would ask to see any recent opinions. It seems like every topic brought up everyone just says use the search, cant any new threads be made relating? I mean new products and results happen all the time.

 

What are you looking for:

Warn air
Cold air
Ease of installation
Ease of filter removal and cleaning?
