Do you feel its necessary to coat them with jethot?

You don't have to but I did. Helps keep the heat down some.

Default coating headers

I have not coated my headers and there is additional heat build up. Overall the temps are bearable with outside temps in the mid to upper 80's. I will suggest you insulate the line that runs from the clutch master cylinder to the transmission otherwise you will boil your clutch fluid and think you have cluth problems when really it's a fluidl problem.
