Great to see it working well . Do you have a A/F chart ? And does the Utec have a target A/F feature ?
We do not use the dynopack Wideband we find that it's sample rate is too slow to tune a car properly. Our Tuner Product plugs into the UTEC and read AFR Data in each Datalog.
Thanks,
Jermaine~
Exact Release Date is TBA but I am shooting for this month definitely.
man N/A is looking more and more tempting lol. the new ITB is supposed to be released soon.. i heard 30-45hp increase in power.. w/ 25-30 being more reasonable.. thast insane. add in cams and its even beter! we'll be seing 350hp 350s soon ? w/ more trq to butt.
Can some please clarify me on what are the differences between the UTEC and UNICHIP? Which one is better for NA cars? Thanks
The UTEC and the UNICHIP are two different units. Actually in the earlier days of the WRX market we used UNICHIP's. Once we began to tune more high power cars we would see that the UNICHIP lacked consistency. We would make multiple dyno runs getting everything right then it would knock because we didn't have exact Ignition Timing and it would forced the ECU to switch fuel maps. All the power made before was now lost because the car runs richer and has a total advance of less timing. The factory's ECU Timing Maps are very dynamic applying an offset to a roaming number is not ideal. We also ran into conditions where it's MAF Pull down function wouldn't equate to the same voltage between each new UNICHIP Module. -5% out of the fuel map on one box wouldn't give you the same AFR as another box, so before each box left our shop they had to be tested and calibrated on our bench. It was a complete nightmare.
This is essentially what created the brainchild called the UTEC. We wanted the ability to have a Plug and Play Engine Management Solution. The feature list included user tuning, actual ignition timing control, fuel control, datalogging, launch control, active knock correction, multiple map selecting, OBD compliancy and more. The UTEC allows us to have multiple back to back runs which remain consistent.
Thanks,

so basically UTEC is far better than UNICHIP? I thought that UNICHIP works the same as UTEC, since it is also a piggyback.
To compare feature for feature the UTEC vs. Unichip would not be a fair comparison in my eyes. I like to refer to the UTEC as a Parallel EMS not a Piggyback.
Is this an NA application only or available for both or later boost option ?
And is this the first NA application TurboXS has entered into?
Our Engine Management Solution will work for both N/A and FI. So if you are planning to go FI, you can purchase the UTEC and cover both sides. TurboXS has N/A cars we playing with as well like the Lotus Elise
Thanks,
Jermaine~
P.S. The UTEC will have Rev Limit control in future software updates.
