And +1 on the "will it work with the 287hp motors"

I am just wondering why an answer hasn't been said yet, just a simple yes or no?

Wow, long time man! You a Z boy now?

This only works on the 298 hp REV G35 and I think its the 300hp Z. Only the 6mt REV engines.

Can we at least get an inkling as to what kind of product we're looking at?

Alright, you've been told that this thing has only been tested on the 298hp G35 and revup Z motors thus far. The dyno above shows a flattening out of the curve around two spots in the power range while losing power at the top end. Tony also showed Klumzyees dyno plots in the other thread that clearly showed the AFR leaning out a good 0.5 points above 4750 to redline (here). Tony said that this thing is made up of a lot more metal than just a spacer (here). He also said that it'll use some OEM parts (more than just gaskets?) that he's stocking up on, and Nissan has already upped their price (here). Finally, and most important IMO, he said that the target price will be $300-600 depending on the option selected (here). That ought to tell you something about what this is NOT, and if you were an auto engine designer, something about what it is. If you don't have a clue yet, then just patiently wait for the revealing and you'll be surprised.

I could care less if this only works on a rev-up motor only... great for 06 owners, sucks for everyone else aside from 05 track model & 35th anniversary owners which I'm sure are far & few between.

Yes, it will definitely be worth the wait. Patience, in this case, will be rewarded.

We do what? We are coming out with an article to help the Z community. Are you angry because of that? I would assume you would like good product information and comparisions.

We are not the manufacture of the product being discussed therefore we do not disclose anything about their product until they want to release it and we agreed to release the information on all products at the time the article is published. I was simply giving a heads up to those wishing to see an article & dynos on this product and other plenum and plenum spacers. This gives consumers the option of reading it to help them have information in selecting a product that meets there needs.

Most magazines do not tell you up coming articles thus you could buy a product and then have the article come out just weeks after you already buy a product with less info to make an informed decision.

If you have a problem with that, pm me and we can talk on the phone. I would be happy to talk to you however data within the article comes out when the magazine is released (JUST AS IT DOES WITH ALL MAGAZINES).

Zland, well said....

Magazines can however discuss which products will be covered or featured in their upcoming magazine. That is common...

Can you tell me which plenum's and plenum spacers were tested and will be in the article?

Thanks

I was involved in helping out on this test however DaveO is the guy who is doing the final writing (and most of the work) on this article. We sometimes work together on articles and especially ones that are comparisons/shootouts because of the amount of time it takes to do these articles.

PM DaveO so he can decide what information he wants to release on the article. It would be completely unprofessional (and showing no respect for DaveO who I do respect a lot) for me to begin answering questions on who was tested and those results. Basically I dont want to take away credit due to him for all his hard work. I was able to tell you the test is coming in the next article because DaveO said it already on line.

I will pm DaveO myself and let him know this discussion is going on here on this thread with the hopes he will reply to your comment.

Owned? yeah right.
Sorry but I find it annoying that you will discuss on the forums what the issue will contain and then hold back any real information. I am not saying that you should disclose info about someone else product or the test data but clearly general info about the product is being withheld for the article.

Ultimately the info will come out and the community can decide if this is a worthwhile mod or not.

ZLand, I recognize your support of the Z community and have tried to support your efforts but I do not agree with this stuff. Anyhow, I PM'ed you with my comments.
