Default Not sure i like the pop charger sound...

I installed my long awaited 3 week delivery popcharger today and have been so excited about it and wondering what it was gonna sound like and i think its too loud... i love the growl but its kinda overbearing... once i get exhaust and plenum upgrade will it offset any? im gonna keep it but im just gonna have to get used to it, anyone know of a way to quiet it down a lil? like putting a box around it or something... just curious

Honestly, put the stock air box back on and sell it. The main benefit of the popcharger is the sound. It will only get louder as you remove restrictions from your intake/exhaust system.

Wow, I just put mine in a few days ago and it's not all that loud to me. It's actually quieter than I thought it would be.

its not that loud. if you want loud put a free flow exhaust and test pipes. itll get damn loud then. the freerer breathing it is, the louder itll be.

well half the reason besides looks and quickness that i got the Z is cause i drove a camaro and i didnt like how it took 2 15s to drown out all the sound... the exhaust was nice but i didnt like always hearing it and everything... but the intake isnt that bad considering im not full throttle everywhere i go. Im doing a cross state roadtrip so ill have enough time to get used to it haha. Anyone live near Fort Smith Arkansas i can meet up with thats where im headed

I enjoyed my popcharger sound for about a week or two until I installed my Borla TD catback. It drowned out the popcharger noise in a nice way, now the Z has an agressive growl in the front with a nice offset Ferrari exhaust sound in the back.

I love my car's intake/exhaust system now. I'm kinda scared to install headers and high flow cats next spring because it might change the notes ;(

A plenum mod such as a upper plenum, spacer, or intake manifold will deaden the sound more.

I could no longer hear my stillen exhaust after my pop charger install. I replaced the heat shield with a Stillen box. That worked in silencing the intake.

guys - what kind of popcharger do you have?!? when I installed mine i could barely hear it... unless you're shifting at 6000 rpm every gear, I woudln't call it overbearing at all

I’m always a bit confused when members talk about the “sound” of the pop charger (or any intake for that matter). The intake is under the hood, and the hood is closed. How much “sound” can it possibly make?

Im not sure what your K&N sounds like, but the JWT is MUCH louder than the stock airbox when you are over 4k rpms with the throttle wide open. Sorry to anyone with a JWT who hasnt experienced this....maybe you installed it upside down
