Angry y pipe damaged

any way to repair the steel braided part that goes over the flex part of your y-pipe?

there is no damage to the piping underneath but it looks like crap and i want to replace it.

too much scraping going over speed bumps...i hate those things

You can get it fixed for around $50.00 from a muffler shop. They will just put a new steel braided flex tube in place of the ones you have now.

i haven't done anything about it yet... the muffler shop i was at 2 weeks ago said it didn't look like it was leaking or anything, so i didn't touch it yet. i dunno if they know what they're talking about.

sometime this week or next my car is going in to get looked over by a shop who are 350z/G35 specialists, so i'll see what they say about it... it's throwing a CEL and sounds like it's leaking exhaust somewhere, i don't think at the flex joint though

one thing to check if you haven't already is the sensors on the cats and headers. i had the same problem with the exhaust leak and it was a loose sensor on my headers.
