To understand why it would be such a pain to do this you really need to understand how a controller area network works.
There are a few ways you can overcome this, the easiest for me would be to use a freescale microcontroller and some C++ code to send the CAN signal that the ecu expects for a givin throtle postion. This way you wouldnt have to deal with the systems settleing time for the t.b. to react to a change in peddle postion.

Wow, now that's just out of my knowledgable range I'm not too great with electronics either.

Hopefully some manufacturer would release a kit one day to bypass it.

The reason i wanted to know about the cable conversion was for the possible use of ITB's. I have been a contact with a possible manufacturer, but a standalone is a must in this case

You can controll the ITBs with TBW. The signal from the ECU controlls a motor/actuator that opens the throttle. Now with ITBs you can put the motor on one of the t.b.s and have them all connected so when one opens, they all open. Or you can use one motor for each t.b. and have the signal from the ecu pass through a controll system to send the signal to all the motors at once... again this could be done with a 15$ microcontroller and some C code.

Zexy:

Best of luck with the project mate! will it be cool to look at BMW M5's ITB module (V configuration) and wire it to our zed (use 6 ITBs out of 8 ITBs)... do you think that might work better?

cheers,

richie

Heh, i thing the price of those might be more expensive than a custom manufactured setup!

Either way it seems a full standalone is needed for this and i don't want to drop my cash on a Motec

The only hope is a response if HKS Japan really makes a set for the VQ35 motor or i was also thinking a HKS V-PRO setup instead of a Motec. But then there are no tuners in Florida fo the V-PRO. I wouldn't even know if it would take care of the DBW. Then again FI calls my name and seems more desirable everyday.

Richie, would you know if HKS Japan sells a ITB setup for the 350z?
