Default A Question for people with Test Pipes

This is probably a pretty obscure question, but do the test pipes stink up your garage when you park? I know for a fact other members of my family would be quite annoyed/pissed if my car made the garage smell like Sh*t. any opinions?

Nope, my garage stunk more when I first put my nismo exhaust on than when I put test pipes on.

Only for the first couple of weeks will you get a strong fuel smell but that eventually goes away.

put em on and enjoy the power...

just don't keep your car idling in the garage for extended periods of time and allow for exhaust gas to escape before closing the door

Doesn't seem like the smell is that bad according to some people, but are there health risks from parking in the garage with test pipes??

I noticed no new smell, but it took me a few weeks to get used to the new sound. At first I thought it sounded like a souped up civic, but now I realize its not nearly that bad from the outside.

Its about performance. Put some flowers in the garage for Pete's sake.

I know in Jersey if you get pulled over and cops fine out car gets impounded and i think its like a fine up to $10,000

In regards to the test types there worth it for the power but it also can get raspy depends on the exhaust

you get fined on the spot by the cop? dont they have to send you to emissions and then when go cant u just take out the pipes beforehand and then get your car tested? if u really get fined on the spot then its totally not worth it to get test pipes cuz i think an average cop could smell the difference.

Na you dont get fined on the spot. They impound the car and test it before they let you get the car out of the impound and basicly then you are SOL. Well mine is sc and running rich ... yes you can smell it but i always turn off the car when i get pulled over

I always shut the car off when i get pulled over as well lol. And yes, they take it on the spot. Impounding + you pay for impounding + fine + putting it back to stock. Its a big risk to pay..for 5 hp if ur NA. If your turbo, ur running the chance of having ur car taken just by the sound of the BOV so you shouldn't be so worried lol.

Man, you guys are probably just immune to the smell by now. It's like whiffing your own farts... The only people it really tends to bother are those who have never had the pleasure... J/K

I'll be ordering my test pipes this week and have heard about the smell, but it eventually goes away. I can live with that.

Just be polite to the cops whenever you get pulled over. They will let you go most of the time with just a regular ticket. Never argue with them under any circumstances.

Of course... but if they smell unburnt fuel being dumped into the exhaust then you have to be really polite ... like giving him head or something

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. jvanquish funniest remark ive seen on this forum so far. anyway, so are u guys saying that its still not a real danger to have test pipes on your car unless youre careful? afterall...if u do get caught redhanded, the prices arent very funny.
