i own a 2004 nissan 350z and a 1994 toyota supra twin turbo which im kind of still new too cause i started off as a honda head.. i used to have a 2000 honda civic Si and i used to run all sorts of type R parts but i noticed when i straight piped my car it ran alot better and the vtec roared like no other... but the CEL (check engine light) was on, when i had to sell my car i put my cat back on unplugged my battery which reset my ECU and the CEL went away... im new to Z tuning i pretty sure when i put test pipes on the CEL will go on, how will our ECU react to straight pipe and also lets say if i took them off and unplugged my battery would it reset the ECU and turn off the light?
thanks guys im still a newbie

I have testpipes! Yes CEL came on. U can erase the code by takin off battery and waiting a min. Then reconnecting. But it will pop up again after a few miles. If you put cats back on. Yes it will erase. Other than that love them. Can be raspy at times. But like the performance.

02 simulator? For 8 bucks and no splicing, tapping wires, you could run nonfoulers and be done.

I think that the ksl isn't only a defouler....
From Bonalume:
"KSL
Our new catalyser for lambda probes denominated KSL is now available.
As you will have realised, it is used to prevent the engine Check LED or pollution anomaly LED from lighting up if you have removed the catalyser or you have installed one that is rather permeable or insufficiently catalysing.
The product is universal and can be installed in all vehicles equipped with second lambda probe.
It is to be installed on the second probe and does not require an electric system/adjustments/modifications to adapt it. "
Or i am wrong?

get two packs of HELP! nonfoulers part # 42002 at autozone/checker. screw one into each test pipe undrilled. Take the second ones and drill them out with 1/2" drill bit, screw them into the undrilled ones that you installed into the test pipes and then screw in your o2 sensors. This will keep you SES light free.
