Default Borla TD owners

I just ordered my Borla TD exhaust today and I have been trying to decide if I should buy a test pipe. I keep reading people say to make sure they're resonated or you'll get major rasp. I've seen a few video clips from people who have unresonated pipes and it doesn't sound to bad. I just want my exhaust to be somewhat deep. Any advice for me cause I wanted to have it installed when I get the exhaust installed or should I just wait till after I install the exhaust and see if the borla is deep enough by itself. I would also like to go the test pipe route because of the additional gains. I only have a pop charger if this helps.

P.S. I have used "Search" a billion times, just looking for any Borla owners advice.

I am running the Borla TD with IMR resonated test pipes and pro 1 headers. I love the sound very little rasp with the resonated test pipes. i get a lot of compliments on the sound. very exotic sounding, i wish i had some sound clips for ya.. I think as long as your test pipes are renonated you should not get too much rasp. if your really concerned just get high flow cats.

i run Borla and resonated test pipes. Just a bit rasp when start up. Once they hot and ready, you don't hear anything. DO not get HFC..just waste your money.

Borla TD, Pop Charger, Kinetix resonated test pipes. Oh Yeah!!

That's what I have and it sounds awesome. I also have headers, though.
Borla + POP + res'd test pipes and you'll be stoked.

kinetix resonated are crap - just pulled them off a car.

Best resonated test pipes hands down are the labree motorsports.

Just keep in mind, no matter what resonated test pipes you choose, they only have very small resonators and won't do much to keep rasp down. The exhaust is going to really be the determining factor with the amount of rasp you may get. That said, I would just get a set of APS test pipes for about 200 bucks and call it a day.

I don't smell any when in the car, windows rolled up. Maybe a little sometimes when windows down. When standing next to it by the rear end I can smell it. I don't care.

If you're looking for performance, tests pipes are a good idea. Does the Borla catback exhaust have resonators? If yes, then there is little point in adding test pipes with resonators.

Yes the Borla True dual has a resonator on each pipe right above the M brace.

Borla TD is a little quiet for my taste. Has anyone removed the resonators on this exhaust?

I just put my borla on a few days ago. I have a pop charger and kinetix race pipes. I had the race pipes on for about 3 weeks and hated the sound with stock exhaust , it was loud and raspy. I put the borla on and it made a big difference. its still loud, but in a good way. There is still some rasp there but nowhere near what it was. I guess the resonated ones would be a little better but I dont know how much. The test pipes were good hp for the money, I noticed the difference. It increased my 1/4 mile too with the pop charger I ran 14.0 every time I went, with the tp I ran 13.7 and have the slips to prove it. I just got my kinetix ssv manifold yesterday and am hopeing to install it today.
