There are two pipes running into the box:

a. pipe to the plenum
b. pipe to the scoop

The pipe to box is not a perfect airtight fit.

I have had mine for 40K and Love it. Makes the Car sound MUCH meaner than my friends PopChargers and Nismos. Performance Wise, its an intake, it does make a very small difference.

The remote radar detector I have came with a temperature probe, so I stuck it when the stock hole feeds into the airbox...while driving, I usually see a 3 F difference between the outside temperature (from the Z's guage) compared to my radar detector's temp. (The general rule that I've always heard was that a 10 degree F difference in intake temp is equal to 1 hp)

Very pleased with my Typhoon intake, best and safest design IMO. Looks nice with the carbon lid for the airbox as well. Sounds very nice, most "open air" filters sounds similar though i think the typhoon sounds alittle bit more aggressive due to the metal box the filter is placed in.

Summary:
- Good Performance
- Good Sound
- Good Looks

And its as safe as a short ram, and you dont have to use the ram pipe to the grille if you dont want to.

When you ask question regarding intake in this forum.

Everyone will answer you "get popcharger" or "popcharger is the way to go" or sth like that...

Do you have a photo of the injen sp intake? I’ve never seen one.

According to the K & N website, the Typhoon is not listed for the 06 Z's. Only the Series 63 Aircharger. This gospel? Shows the Typhoon for 05' and earlier.

Love mine. I think it's the best of both worlds being that it's a short ram and a CAI. The sound at 5K is worth the price alone.
