Re-tuning is OK.... installing the new part may change the AFR. So the whole story isn't told unless the tune is optomized for the new part.

SSV is a waste of money if your staying NA. on the other hand, it adds approx. 20-30 whp when you're FI'ed

Prove your statement with a before and after FI install dyno please.

note his 50 HP gains are at the crank... I know you might say other conditions, different dyno, etc. but this thing did something regardless of other factors. plus NO tuning in his case, he would see another couple of HP's if its tuned with the SSV

quoted from Sharif on that thread

"Any chance you could return to that DynoDynamics dyno and run the Kinetix SSV on that? Comparisons from two different types of dynos dont really tell us anything at all. Thanks for sharing, though. "

yeah I did mention that above. just to clarify things, I do beleive that the SSV works best when you're SC, especially the vortech SC. people that have turbo and installed the SSV didnt see the expected gains for the money spent. There was a guy (shugunz, not sure of the excat nick) who had the prototype SSV with his vortech and gained 40whp+

personally i'd like to know the number gain aswell. i def felt a butt dyno gain, more than my test pipes.. i do believe the ssv was made specifically for FI. i bought it for that purpose only.

Blue = V4 Red = Prototype Green = SSV w/Tune

Note: Everyone, to include ME did not feel I had a GOOD tune when we did the February '05 pulls with the V4 or Prototype. Conducted prototype testing by putting vehicle on dyno, doing 3 pulls, removing V4, installing prototype and doing three more pulls. The SSV numbers in May '05 were after tuning.

How many times has the been raised on this Dyno so far???

Get some other proof then come back to the conversation. Something without a 3 month gap in it. I'm not calling you a liar, but you just have not proven your case by a long shot.

The other thing to note on that dyno is that they pulled the SSV dynos about 500 rpms higher than with the previous dynos. On a SC car, this a HUGE reason for any HP gains seen because your max hp will continue to increase the longer you are able to rev the car out. if you look at the curves, you only see the curves pull apart at redline and beyond the point where previous plenums were cut off.

There are other things factoring in on those dynos.

IMO, if you like the look of the SSV and are willing to dish out 800+ bucks for it, than get it.

The "3 month gap" was from initial "prototype" installation/testing until final Kinetix SSV IM was received/installed/tested/tuned and dynoed. I will make NO MORE posts on SSV! If you have questions, send "PM"!

does anyone have any dyno charts before and after for an NA car?

i see that after one up there but no before

does this change your AF that much? wouldnt it just make it more rich and then you could lean it out with better flowing exhaust parts?
