Default Exhaust Recommendation

Hey All,
I used to have the Stillen Catback Exhaust until I totaled my Z; long story, but I ended up losing the exhaust even though it wasn't damaged (there is some very lucky salvage-yard owner). Anyway, I was happy with that model, but I think on my current Z I'd like to find one that is a bit louder and nastier - I want one that really rumbles. Some extra horses are always nice too. What do you guys thing? Should I get another Stillen, or somethin different?

I can highly recommend crawford hiflow cats and nismo catback combo. The sound is awesome. I had the nismo catback installed first. The sound improved significantly over stock, but the crawfords took it to another level completly...

I've never seen the Topspeed one - even Googled it, nada! I was looking at the Crawford Hiflo cats a while back - but I remember being told that those were no good for passing emissions; is that true? I live in AZ, where the smog-regs are tight for this kind of stuff. I don't need another reason to get tickets. Any chance you have an audio clip of the crawfords/nismo combo? If I am going to do an exhaust, does it make the most sense to do headers & hiflow cats at the same time?

HKS sounds decent, but can you say it 'really rumbles'?

That one like the HKS is not a rumbler - more higher pitched (relatively speeking) and more exotic.

imo rumble just go straight pipe exhaust no resonator no muffler...
that thing will be the true 3.5L V6 rumble
just kidding
Would you rather have the Z sound like a ferrari or a porsche?
The ferrari has a high pitched howl while the porsche has a deeper rumble...
Thats basically the call here

or look at RS*R because it is TopSpeed pro-1's brother exhaust

What like a Chevrolet with glasspacks? Or a Mustang with flowmasters...

In all seriousness, I think the Borla is leading the pack right now. It seems to have the right mixture of flash and function, and I've read some pretty good reviews. The next question really is how much I should expect to be charged for an installation. The last one I did myself with a friend, but we just don't have the time to do it again - so I will be looking for some professional help. I am in Phoenix, where the average mechanic labor is about 75/hr. I will likely go to an import tuner shop if I can find one.

Just curious, but when you go through emissions-testing in AZ, do they put a "sniffer" in the exhaust, or simply jack into your ECU? In Oregon, I've only seen them plug into the ECU and haven't worried about my Stillen exhaust and LaBree test pipes. I have a couple of years before I have to worry.

If you want to set off car alarms, Top Speed Pro1 is the way to go. I have stock headers, stock cats and I set off car alarms in pretty much every parking lot. Here's a video of mine.
