Default Advice on different exhausts

I am about to buy a Z and the 2nd mod I want to do is exhaust (1st is wheels). I have narrowed my choices down to:
APS 2.5
Borla TD
HKS Hi Power
Greddy Evo 2

I am specifically looking for a sound that is deeper and exotic. DO NOT want anything high pitched or rice sounding. Also looking for a clean appearing system with nice tips, nothing with those super large cans.

Thanks.

Also, how much change does adding HF cats to the system do (ie to efficiency, power, sound)?

rule of thumb, read around and search. There are prolly a few thousand threads on exhausts, with sound clips, too.

i mean, hell, there are 2 stickies at the top of this forum.

HKS Hi Power

I might be a little biased because I have it, but I think its one of the best sounding and best looking exhausts for the 350Z, and I've also been told the same thing

Greddy EVO2. Nice deep, exotic tone while not being too loud while cruising but really opens up WOT.

Sounds good with the Crawford High Flows. I did the HF Cats after about two months of just EVO2. The exhaust sound awesome.

Apexi N1, or HKS Hi Power.... I have the N1 so that makes me biased but it sounds great, like taking the stock sound and making it more "exotic". The HKS sounds amazing too, but its like twice the price

Welcome to the forum. With respect, lets work together modifying your 350Z after you buy it.

Default Pics of HKS System Installed

I'm also in the market for an exhaust system upgrade. I checked out some of the sound clips and must say the HKS system sounds sweet! I'm also concerned this the installed appearance, plus got a couple of speed bumps on my street If anyone has pics of an installed HKS exhaust system I'd love to see'em just to get a better idea before I lay out $1600. Thanks.

Search man... the exhaust forum even has a sticky thread on this... that means it's at the top of everything, and people post pics and sound files of almost EVERY system out there.

I have the exhaust on my car, and I never have to worry about any speed bumps... I had a lot of pics, but I would have to find some place to upload them again. Here's an old video I made though, when I got the exhaust installed http://www.turboboxer.com/images/350zTT.wmv

I've been planning to make another video for a loooong time, but things always keep coming up...

From what i'm reading you're just like me Nothing flashy, nothing ricey. Looks like ur a good candidate for either Borla or APS TD 2.5. I hvae the APS TD 2.5. It sounds like a wRX or a 911, has stock looking tips w/ APS laser etched and damn does it sound clean.

Thanks... I think I am leaning towards the APS or HKS.
