i have to get an emissions test by march 1st... i have the nismo headers my 03'..... i know they're "race only" but i think they might mess up my emissions testing... any input? i was thinking of paying the mechanic off with a hundred dollars and tellin him to make it right... haha and i bought the car with the headers on it so thats why i dont know.... this is my first nissan... as well as my first rear-wheel-drive car

 

Maybe get this moved to Intake/Exhaust. Someone over there can probably help.

The headers are not CARB legal, which only means that they've never been certified to pass smog. This doesn't mean that they won't pass, just that they have never been certified. Chances are you will be ok, as long as your 02 sensors are in good working order, and your cats are good as well...
don't worry about visual inspection though,

in atlanta you will pass. as long as your cel is not on you will pass. make sure to have the car warmed up!!

 

What do headers have to do with auto emissions?

 

i'd imagine alot..... but according to these guys i should be fine... thats all im worried about...
